    词汇新条目之15 - [Urbandic words]

    1. funk:放克音乐。巴西的“放克音乐”（Funk，即低下阶层的乡土音乐）目前正热力四射。夜晚的舞会吸引成千上万各阶层年轻人拥进会场，不计其数的CD正热销。一些有巴西“放克”气息的舞蹈动作正在纽约、华盛顿、迈阿密等地暗暗流行。
          巴西“放克音乐”名制作人“DJ万宝路”说，“放克音乐”就像巴西的一道菜，“这道菜本来是用剩余的肉屑去炖，好用来喂黑奴的，如今却一跃成为国菜，因为它来自国家的精华：穷人。不论你喜不喜欢，放克音乐的崛起都应做如是观。”
          巴西“放克音乐”崛起于20世纪八十年代，将美国文化与拉丁元素融为一体，成为一种原创艺术表现，就如同六十年代融合美国爵士和巴西桑巴舞的波萨诺伐舞曲。“放克音乐”的盗版CD被四处贩售，再在现代的“放克音乐”舞会中播放。
    2. reggage:雷鬼音乐。一种由斯卡（Ska）和洛克斯代迪（Rock Steady）音乐演变而来的牙买加流行音乐。事实上，很难在洛克斯代迪和雷鬼之间划出明确的界限。只是后者较前者更为细腻，更多地使用电声乐器和更加国 际化。如果说斯卡音乐还只是在美国流行音乐的影响下产生的一种拉美流行音乐的话 ，那么雷鬼则已发展成为欧美摇滚乐主流中的一种重要体裁了。

    5. carbon guilt:
      The feeling of guilt for using too much carbon,
      e.g. too much air travel,
      driving to the corner shop in the car, etc
      'Man, I have to fly to Zurich for the second time this month'
      'Whoa, you must have some major carbon guilt over that'
    6. dress flops:
      When the new young preps have two pairs of Rainbows flip flops and one of which they concider new and clean enough for fomal occasions.
      Dude, I can't wear these to dinner. I'll stop by my place and put on my dress flops.
    7. pres:
      A prep is a person that is totally brainwashed by the media. They wear what brands the media tells them to such as A&F, AE, Aero, hollister, express, etc. They basically only listen to mainstream music. They make fun of people who aren't afraid to be themselves otherwise know as individuals. Preps are shallow. They are monkeys --> monkey see, monkey do. The media says something's cool, prep sees, prep thinks it's cool.
      As someone else on here said, "preps are the downfall(衰败，毁灭) of society". and they are.
      THOUGH, there ARE some people that are actually not snobby(势力的), wear the "prepy" clothes because they like them, and are smart and not shallow. These people are OK they are nice. They will not lead to the apocolypse like the rest of the preps.
      The media says jumping off a bridge is the cool and "in" right now.
      prep: Lyk OMG I'm lyk ssooooo jumpin off a briadgee todai. OMGOMG who wantz to com.
    8. i put on my wizard hat:
      Made famous by the Bash.org Top 100 list, "I put on my robe and my wizard hat" refers to the fake cyber sex(虚拟性爱) dialogues of BloodNinja.
      bloodninja: Baby, I been havin a tough night so treat me nice aight?
      BritneySpears14: Aight.
      bloodninja: Slip out of those pants baby, yeah.
      BritneySpears14: I slip out of my pants, just for you, bloodninja.
      bloodninja: Oh yeah, aight. Aight, I put on my robe and wizard hat.
    9. fagged-out:tired, exhausted, physically exhausted.
      Boy, I am fagged-out after unloading that truck!
    10. newcastle:
       
      The better city in the North East where Geordies (乔德人，纽卡尔所当地人)originate from, surpasses the lesser neighbouring city Sunderland outright.

      "Hey I fancy visiting the North East"
      "Hmmm, how about Sunderland?"
      "No way, that place is a shithole. I would much rather visit the better city of Newcastle."
